Eastman SnoPALS is a regional snowmobile club formed in 1996 by the amalgamation of several smaller, local clubs from Pinawa, Agassiz (Seddon's Corner) and Lac du Bonnet. This is where the acronym PALS originates from. Other clubs have joined us since then. The SnoPALS is presently comprised of members from Pinawa, Lac du Bonnet, Seddon's Corner, Seven Sister Falls, Whitemouth and Elma.

A Port in the Storm Inc. was founded by two oncology nurses, Joanne Loughery, Patricia Benjaminson, and a patient volunteer, Greg Pilgrim. They recognized the need of rural and northern adult patients to stay in a home-like environment while receiving medical care in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg River Recreation District (Lac du Bonnet – Pinawa Recreation Commission) is a non-profit community based organization that was developed in 1981 by the Town of Lac du Bonnet, RM of Lac du Bonnet, LGD of Pinawa, Sunrise School Division, and the School District of Whiteshell. The board is comprised of representatives of these partner organizations and community members from the three municipal areas. The Winnipeg River Recreation District (WRRD) also employs two year round staff members. The board and staff work together to provide community recreation services to residents, visitors, and recreation groups in the Winnipeg River area.
